This year at cal state convention we did extreamly well.. i only showed one mini rex and my sisters showed one jersey wooly and one english spot. The mini rex Win open BOB 5/6 Shows. The wooly won a bog a bosb and 2 BOB. The spot won 2 bob and 2 bosb and a bov. we ended the weekend with a HUGE RIS in open with my mini rex. This marks a huge milestone as we get more competitive.
This past weekend I attended the Cal state convention It was a awesome show. I learned a ton more on what were good and bad traits of the breed and id have to thank judge Randy Shumaker for that! all my rabbits started to molt the weekend before so I thought I didn't stand a chance. hope I can get these guys in coat for WCC!!
I got there on Friday at about 1 PM. my friend Timmy Bauer and I began to set up coops and tables. we were completely finished by I believe 4ish. After we got everything set up I began to talk to friends as they came in. I picked up a potential herd buck from Kathy Tellechea named black jack he has awesome type and wacko density. I believe he just may be what I was looking for however, time will tell as he is only 4 months of age. I will post a pic of him when he is done with his molt. on Friday I also attended the judges conference where I touched Betty Chu's angoras, yes I said Betty Chu!! thanks to Joe Lugo for putting it on! Saturday morning we started off with Mini Rex it was kind of cool since they were kind of back to back on Scott Williamson's table I took 2nd place of 15 sr Broken bucks (lost to the BOSB winner), 1st otter sr doe, and 5th of 13 broken sr does. then at Kevin Stanford's table I got 1st broken sr buck then went to win BOSV then BOSB!! out of 120 MR also got 1st otter sr doe and 3rd broken sr doe of 13. Sunday was a terrible day I didn't feel like my rabbits were in coat enough to put them on the table so I scratched the specialty show and show D Show C was under Randy Shumaker. I took 2nd broken sr buck I believe out of 6 or 7 then took 2nd otter SR doe then 5th broken out of 8 I held my own considering everything was blowing coat and or was double coated. no I need to work my BEHIND OFF !! and try and get these buns in coat by the 22nd !! thank you for reading my blog please feel free to comment!!
